Who we are

This policy explains how House of T-Classique handles personal information in connection with www.t-classique.co.za, client enquiries, appointments, fittings and orders. House of T-Classique is a fashion business based in Roodepoort, Johannesburg, South Africa. Our privacy contact and office details appear below.

We handle personal information in accordance with applicable South African law, including the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). Last updated: 7 October 2026.

Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, information may include:

  • Your name, email address, telephone number and delivery or billing address.
  • Enquiry messages, appointment details, order records, payment confirmations and correspondence.
  • Measurements, garment preferences and fitting notes needed to create or alter a garment.
  • Photographs or design references you choose to provide, and permissions relating to their use.
  • Technical information such as IP address, browser type and website activity where collected by our hosting, security or website services.

We collect information directly from you through the channels you use, including website forms, email, WhatsApp and in-person appointments. If someone provides information on your behalf, they should have authority to do so. Please share only information relevant to your enquiry or order.

Why we use your information

We use relevant information to respond to enquiries, arrange appointments, prepare quotations, make and fit garments, process orders, coordinate delivery and provide customer support. We may also use information to maintain accounting records, meet legal duties, resolve disputes, protect our business and improve our services.

Processing must have a lawful justification under POPIA, such as your consent, steps needed to enter into or perform a contract, a legal obligation, or the protection of legitimate interests where applicable. If information needed for an order or fitting is not provided, we may be unable to complete that service. Optional information is not a condition of receiving unrelated services.

Photographs & client images

Photographs supplied for a fitting or design enquiry are used for that purpose. Publication of identifiable client photographs on our website, social media or promotional materials requires an appropriate permission or other lawful justification. Agreeing to a fitting or placing an order does not by itself grant permission for promotional use of your image.

Contact us if you wish to change a permission you have given. Withdrawal does not make earlier lawful processing unlawful, and we will explain any practical limits relating to material already distributed.

Who information may be shared with

Where necessary, information may be shared with authorised team members and service providers involved in hosting, communications, payment processing, accounting, garment production or delivery. We aim to limit sharing to the information needed for the service and to apply appropriate confidentiality and security arrangements.

We may also disclose information where required by law, to respond to a lawful request or to protect legal rights. We do not sell personal information. Third-party platforms, including WhatsApp and payment services, may process information under their own privacy policies; please review those policies when using their services.

Cookies & website services

Cookies are small files stored on your device. Our website may use cookies needed for site functionality, security or shopping features. If optional analytics or advertising technologies are used, they should be identified and appropriate choices or consent provided where required.

You can manage cookies in your browser and, where available, through the website’s consent controls. Blocking essential cookies may affect certain features. This policy does not itself enable a cookie banner or authorise optional tracking. External links take you to websites with their own privacy practices.

Marketing preferences

Electronic direct marketing is subject to POPIA’s consent requirements or the limited existing-customer exception, where its conditions are met. You may unsubscribe or ask us to stop marketing at any time using the instructions in a message or the contact details below. Service messages about an enquiry, fitting or order may still be needed.

Security, retention & overseas services

We take reasonable organisational and technical measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss and misuse. No online service can guarantee absolute security. If a security compromise occurs, we will assess and make notifications required by applicable law.

Information is retained only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, applicable legal recordkeeping duties or other lawful retention grounds. The period depends on the type of record and our obligations. When it is no longer needed, it should be securely deleted, destroyed or de-identified.

Some service providers may process information outside South Africa. Any transfer must satisfy the applicable requirements of section 72 of POPIA, including an appropriate protection arrangement or another permitted transfer ground.

Your privacy rights

Subject to applicable legal conditions, you may ask whether we hold your personal information, request access, ask for correction or deletion, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Some records may need to be retained to meet legal duties. We will explain any lawful restriction, procedure or permitted fee that applies.

Send your request using the contact details below, explaining what you would like us to do. We may request proportionate proof of identity to protect your information. Please avoid sending unnecessary identity documents through public channels.

Children’s information

Where a service involves a person under 18, a parent, guardian or other legally competent person should handle the enquiry and provide the necessary authority or consent where required. We do not knowingly use children’s personal information for marketing without an appropriate lawful basis.

Questions & complaints

Please contact our privacy team using the details below if you have a concern. You may also complain to South Africa’s Information Regulator. Visit inforegulator.org.za/complaints for the current complaint procedure, or email POPIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services, practices or legal obligations change. The date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate or required by law.
